Autumn is the right season to get squash "courge". As it's a huge vegetable, you will see whole "courges" only on open markets. Most of the time, if you shop in a
supermarket,all you can buy is a piece "un morceau" of squash.
Sometimes you might see in the countryside hips of « courges » stocked in front of a farm. There you can buy an entire
squash and most of the time it's very very cheap.
« courge » is yellow (orange is « potiron » pumpkin). It's not so tasty, that's why we cook it in
« gratin » most of the time.
