Many French people enjoy « faire le pont ». It occurs when a public holiday takes place on a Tuesday or Thursday. People just need 1 day holiday on Monday or Friday and they leave for a very long week-end.
It's time for huge trafic jam in France !
Usually May is well known for « faire le pont » because there are some many public holidays during this month and it's also the beginning of nice and hot weather so people want to go to the south of France.
