Learn French for beginners

Hello!

You are currently learning (trying to learn maybe?!) French "conjugaison", French language. And sometimes it's not so easy. Sometimes you feel overwhelmed. Sometimes you feel like you want to give up.

Well, you are at the right place. A place where you can learn, a place where you can take time. A place were you will be acknowledged as a human being, with highs and lows, as we all have.

As a teacher, I've been taking care of students for many years. As a student, I enjoyed learning English and Spanish.

And as an expat, I realized that the English I had learnt was not exactly the English people were using in the REAL life (and not just at school!).

And as an expat again (a few years later), I realized that learning a new language from scratch as an adult was a real challenge (Japanese in my case). I also realized that, in order to succeed as an expat, learning a new language had to be highly and strongly connected with understanding the new culture you live in. Why people act the way they do? Why do they do this and that? Why don't they do this and that? Why do I understand nothing?

This was a very interesting experience, and as a teacher, it helped me realize what was really needed and useful to other expats arriving in France. Coming back from my own expatriations (USA, Japan and New Zealand), I decided to become not only a French teacher, but a French culture teacher too.

So, let's get started!

First, let me tell you, when you start learning French, you learn the present tense at first : le présent.

There is just one (little) thing to know : the present tense is the most difficult tense to learn because it has 2/3 of the exceptions in conjugaison... It's a harsh start.

But just learn what you learn. Every step is a victory. Keep in mind that every single thing you learn, even if it's a little thing, every word you learn is a huge step.

Go at your own rhythm, let things make sense. Let time help you.

When you are tired, take some time for you. Have a drink, go for a walk.Let your brain have a break. Let your mind digest everything you've learnt.

Learning a new language takes time.

On this blog, you will learn a lot of vocabulary, grammar, conjugaison but also French culture, French cooking 😊 (I loooooove food!!!), French history, your French way of life.

Let's get started, welcome to France!
