It looks like a stamp but it's much more expensive because it's a tax.
- When do you need one ?
The French administration will ask for a « timbre fiscal » to obtain documents like : titre de séjour, passeport, attestation d'accueil and to pay your fines.
- Where can you get one ?
You can buy a « timbre fiscal » in a « bureau de tabac » (this small shop where you can buy magazines, cigarettes, bus tickets...) or in a « trésorerie ».
