No salad would be a success without the legendary salad sauce: French dressing. It is a fundamental element of all good cooking and has a great deal of success overseas. You can now make authentic French dressing wherever you are in the world thanks to French products you will find at Mondizen.com! You can make your own French dressing using traditional Dijon whole grain mustard or classical smooth Dijon mustard.
You can alter the taste by using sunflower, olive or walnut oil. You can also change the flavour of the vinegar you use, or add a few herbs.
Ingredients
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard “a l'ancienne”
1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
3 tablespoons olive oil (or walnut or other)
Salt and Pepper to taste
Preparation
Put the mustard into a salad bowl; mix it with the vinegar to obtain a smooth paste. Add a tablespoon of oil and stir well until all the oil has been absorbed. Add a second tablespoon of oil and stir well. Add the last tablespoon of oil and stir.
Add a pinch of salt and pepper to taste.
If the dressing is too strong (the vinegar or mustard taste is too strong) add a bit more oil.
You can make substantial quantities of French dressing as it keeps well for several days in the fridge.
