This beautiful cake is as easy to make as a quatre-quart, because it's based on a quatre-quart recipe.
(same as a quatre-quart) :
3 oeufs (eggs).
Weigh the eggs and use the same weigh of farine (flour), sucre (sugar) and beurre (butter).
1 sachet de levue chimique (baking soda)
4 cuillères à soupe (spoons) cocoa powder
Grease and flour a cake pan
Preheat oven to 150° C.
Sift the flour, baking powder, baking soda together.
In a large bowl, beat together eggs, white sugar for about 1 minute.
Add melted butter gradually and continue beating for another 3-4 minutes, until the batter is thick and light colored. Gently mix in the flour mixture until just combined.
Separate batter into two equal quantities. Add cocoa powder into one bowl of this batter.
Pour batter into the prepared pan making layers.
Bake in preheated oven for 30-40 or until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean. (Do not open the oven in the first 25 minutes.)
Let cool in pan for 10-15 minutes. Turn out onto a plate.
