How and when do I pay my taxe d'habitation ?

You must pay your "taxe d'habitation" around november, check on your « avis d'imposition ».

How can I pay ?

« en numéraire » : cash. Go to the « trésorerie » and pay your tax.

« par titre interbancaire de paiement » : one of the easiest ways. At the bottom of « redevance audiovisuelle » there's a part you can cut. So, cut this part, sign it and write the date of the day. It may be written « joindre un RIB ». A « RIB » is a « relevé d'identité bancaire ».

« par chèque » : write a cheque to « Trésor public » and send it to your « trésorerie » with the bottom part of your « avis d'imposition » (the part you can cut with your name on).

« par prélèvement automatique » : standing order. If your French is good enough and you can do it by yourself on the web

Or, you go directly to your « trésorerie » and ask for a « prélèvement automatique ». For this, you need a « RIB » of course !
