Here is a "jardinière de légumes", it's a mix of vegetables close to "petits pois
carottes" :
How can I make one ?
Ingrédients for 4 :
200 g lardons
700 g petits pois primeurs
500 g pommes de terre nouvelles
350 g carotte nouvelles
Poivre / pepper
For this recipe it's better to use vegetables "primeurs", if you can't get them,
use "ordinaryl" vegetables.
In a pan, grill the lardons (do not add oil, their fat will melt). Remove the lardons, add the sliced onion. Sauté.
Then add the petits pois, carottes and pommes de terre, 1 cup of water, cover, reduce the heat. Cook slowly for 20 minutes.
Pepper.
Have your « jardinière » with a piece of meat (côtes de porc, rôti de porc, escalopes). In general, petit pois carottes are good with a "viande blanche".
