Gratin de crozets

A typical recipe from France, from the Savoie region exactly. Easy to make with a beautiful and rich taste. A must-try!


400g of crozets

1 chicken stock cube

200g (6oz) grated cheese (Beaufort if you have some...)

20cl (1 large tub) thick crème fraîche

200g (6oz) bacon bits or lardons

2 onions

Salt and pepper


Pre-heat the oven to 180°C.

Cook the crozets in a large saucepan of boiling water with one chicken stock cube.

During that time, finely chop the onion and fry it lightly with the bacon bits for a few minutes in a frying pan.

Mix the Crozets the onion and the bacon bits with crème fraîche in an oven-proof dish.

Cover with grated cheese.

Bake in the oven at 180°C until the cheese is melted and golden (about 10 to 15mins).

Delicious with a Savoy dry white wine and green salad.
